Frederick C. Garges (1946-2018), CPA
Fred was an alumnus of University of Dayton. He will be remembered for his dry wit, love of Dayton Flyers basketball, and his dedication to his clients. For many years he was an avid runner and tennis player.
Prior to beginning his career in the accounting field, Fred was commissioned in the U.S. Army and served five years for his country. While stationed in Germany, he was a HAWK Missile Battery Commander. Fred was a District Senior Advisor in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge for his military service.
After re-joining the civilian ranks, Fred accepted a job as Staff Accountant for Geo. G. Scott & Co., the first known CPA firm to open its doors in the state of North Carolina. He was named Partner at Geo. G. Scott & Co. in 1985 and Managing Partner in 1997. In 2002, Fred joined forces with Gary Flouhouse and Ronald Vance to form Vance Flouhouse & Garges, PLLC.
