A licensed CPA in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, Ron brings more than 40 years’ experience to Vance Flouhouse & Garges, PLLC.
A graduate of Benjamin Franklin University in Washington D.C., Ron quickly climbed the ranks during his five years at Grant Thornton LLP, also in Washington, before becoming a Managing Partner in his own firm, Turner, Vance & Moss, CPAs, with offices in Virginia and West Virginia.
After serving as Principal with Reznick, Fedder & Silverman for five years in Bethesda, Maryland, Ron spearheaded the opening, and served as Managing Principal, of the Charlotte, North Carolina office in 1987. As the Managing Principal for twelve years, he engineered the office’s growth as one of the top fifteen firms in Charlotte.
In 2004 Ron was instrumental in founding VFG Associates, Inc. to perform complex engineering/accounting analyses known as Cost Segregation Studies. These highly specialized studies present unique tax planning opportunities for owners of commercial real estate. Ron has become well known for his highly-focused work in this field, resulting in millions of dollars in tax savings for clients.

Ron serves as a Board Member and as Treasurer of the Charlotte Touchdown. Ron is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), Virginia Society of CPAs and West Virginia Society of CPAs,
Ron and Jean, his wife of 30 years, have five children, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
