Gary is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Charlotte obtaining his B.S. in Accounting and B.A. in Political Science. Prior to establishing this firm, Gary was a Partner with the former Geo. G. Scott & Co., one of the largest Charlotte local firms and the oldest CPA firm in North Carolina. .
He spent approximately 20 years with Geo. G. Scott & Co. gaining experience in the automotive, non-profit, real estate, manufacturing and medical industries in both tax and accounting matters.
Gary is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Accountants (AICPA), North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), North Carolina Auto Dealers Association, Greater Charlotte Auto Dealers, North Carolina Center for Non-Profits, past President of the Charlotte South Park Rotary Club and an active member of Weddington Church.
In 2004, Cost Segregation Studies became a key service offered by Vance Flouhouse & Garges, PLLC. Cost Segregation Studies present unique tax planning opportunities for owners of commercial real estate. Gary published an article on “Cost Segregation Studies” for the Tarheel Realtor Magazine and Commercial Connection. He also spoke on this topic in New Orleans at the AICPA 2004 National Construction Conference.
His professional commitment to his clients provides a partnership with them that in many situations has lasted for over twenty-five years.
Gary and wife Meg have been married for 35 years; they have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren.
